GAA-Supported China Seafood Summit to be Held in Shanghai on Nov. 10
The Global Aquaculture Alliance (GAA) is proud to participate in the fourth annual China Seafood Summit once again this year.
The event is typically held in conjunction with the China Fisheries & Seafood Expo (CFSE). After this year’s CFSE, which was scheduled to be held in Qingdao from Oct. 28 to 30, was cancelled due to the pandemic, GAA and its partners quickly pivoted and rescheduled the 2020 China Seafood Summit to Nov. 10 in Shanghai.
GAA is partnering with Guangdong Evergreen Group, Qingdao Yutai Import & Export Co. Ltd. and the Napa Seafood Foundation to organize the in-person event which is limited to 50 people due to COVID-19. However, the event will be live streamed.
The 2020 China Seafood Summit is sponsored by Guangdong Evergreen Group, Chilean mussel producer St. Andrews and the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute.
“Even though travel has been limited this year, we’re pushing ahead with our partners and sponsors to provide a forum for the seafood community in China to discuss shared responsibilities and goals as they relate to business and sustainability,” said GAA VP Steve Hart, who heads the marketing development team in Asia for GAA’s Best Aquaculture Practices third-party certification program.
Topics to be discussed include global aquaculture and fisheries production data, updates on production conditions in China, developments and trends in retail and foodservice in China, updates on policy as it relates to importing and exporting seafood to and from China, and advancements in processing and packaging technology.
