Advocate Editor Attending Four Industry Events in Q1
Global Aquaculture Advocate Editor James Wright will be reporting and writing from four industry events in the first quarter of 2018, beginning next week with the National Fisheries Institute’s Global Seafood Marketing Conference (GSMC).
The publication, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, supports the Global Aquaculture Alliance’s (GAA) mission of feeding the world through responsible aquaculture by providing timely, insightful and accurate information on aquaculture from journalists, researchers and other industry experts.
GSMC kicks off on Jan. 22 at the InterContinental Hotel in Miami, Fla., USA. The annual conference features three days of presentations and discussions on U.S. seafood production, trade and market trend statistics and information. Additionally, Wright is participating in a tour of the University of Miami’s Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science with Professor Daniel Benetti.
Next up is the World Aquaculture Society’s Aquaculture America at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel and Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nev., USA. from Feb. 19 to 22, 2018 In addition to the trade show, the event features dozens of presentations and discussions, many of which are academic and scientific in nature.
Also in attendance will be Advocate Editor Emeritus Darryl Jory and GAA Relationship Manager Sally Krueger, who will be garnering attendees and sponsors for GAA’s GOAL 2018 conference, which takes place in Guayaquil, Ecuador, from Sept. 25 to 27.
Two weeks later, the Economist World Ocean Summit at the Fairmont Mayakoba in Cancún-Playa del Carmen, Mexico, takes place from March 7 to 9, 2018. The event features representatives of many marine-related industries, not just seafood, and some of the aquaculture industry’s top executives will present about investment and new technologies. Also in attendance will be GAA Director of Strategic Engagements Melanie Siggs and GAA Director of Marketing Devan Meserve. GAA is an event partner.
Wrapping up Wright’s four-event tour is Seafood Expo North America in Boston, Mass., USA. North America’s largest trade show is held at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center from March 11 to 13. Wright is covering the growing conference program there and speaking with industry leaders. GAA is exhibiting in booth 481.
