Chris Trosin, BAP’s SVP of Business Development, Departs GAA

Chris TrosinThe Global Aquaculture Alliance announced on Sept. 10 that Chris Trosin is stepping away from his role as senior VP of business development for Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) to pursue a new endeavor as owner of Metro Lobster & Seafood, a Rhode Island-based wholesaler and retailer.

Trosin joined GAA as BAP’s VP of business development in January 2017. Previously, he held the position of VP of sales and marketing-retail at High Liner Foods (USA) Inc., where he had worked for almost 10 years.

“Chris has led the BAP market development team to new heights. In his three-and-a-half years at GAA, the number of BAP-certified processing plants, farms, hatcheries and feed mills has grown from about 1,500 to 2,773 today through the support of the industry as well as our retail and foodservice partners. Chris has a very good relationship with them,” said GAA CEO Wally Stevens. “Chris has been a wonderful representative of GAA to all of our stakeholders. While we wish him success in his new endeavor, we will miss him greatly on a personal level.”

Trosin will provide support during a transition period this month. GAA has begun the search to replace him.
