CNA Coordinating Donations for Earthquake Victims
The Global Aquaculture Alliance’s thoughts and prayers are with the people of Ecuador following Saturday’s devastating earthquake.
We’d like to express our condolences to those in the aquaculture community who have been affected by this tragedy, as they attend to their family, friends and businesses. It’s at times like these that the global aquaculture community must stand together and do everything in its power to help the people of Ecuador through this tragedy.
Cámara Nacional de Acuacultura (CNA), Ecuador’s national aquaculture chamber, is collecting bottled water, non-perishable food, clothes, medicine and other items at its Guayaquil office to be delivered to shrimp producer associations in Manabí, where they will be redistributed to victims of the earthquake. The coastal provinces of Manabí and Esmeraldas were hit hardest by the 7.8-magnitude earthquake.
