GAA, BAP Exhibiting at Germany’s Fish International
For the first time ever, the Global Aquaculture Alliance (GAA) is exhibiting at Fish International in Bremen, Germany, from Feb. 9 to 11.
Held every other year at the Bremen Exhibition & Conference Centre, Fish International features around 300 exhibitors from 29 countries and more than 12,000 visitors this year.
GAA and its industry-leading Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) third-party certification program is exhibiting in Hall 5, Stand A-16. In attendance are Thomas Wilke, who joined the BAP market development team in September, representing Germany, and Jorgen Lund, who represents the BAP market development team in Norway.
BAP continues to make inroads in Germany and throughout continental Europe, said Wilke.
Last year, the BAP program grew more than 15 percent, ending the year with 2,681 BAP-certified processing plants, farms, hatcheries and feed mills in 39 countries. The 1,533 farms account for more than 2 million metric tons of annual production.
