Four Stars for India’s Star Agro
Congratulations to India’s Star Agro Marine Exports Pvt. Ltd., the latest company to earn four-star Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) status.
Four-star BAP status denotes that a product originates from BAP-certified processing plant, farm, hatchery and feed mill. It’s the highest designation in the BAP third-party certification program.
Star Agro earned four-star BAP status upon confirmation that it sources feed from Avanti Feeds Limited, which recently earned BAP re-certification. Also BAP certified are Star Agro’s processing plant, three shrimp farms and two shrimp hatcheries — MAS Aqua Techniks Pvt. Ltd. and MSK Hatcheries — all in India.
At the end of February, 1,172 processing plants, farms, hatcheries and feed mills were BAP certified.
