GAA Upgrades Online Presence With Launch Of Portal

The Global Aquaculture Alliance (GAA) is upgrading its online presence significantly with the rollout of a new software system featuring an online portal that will allow processing plants, farms, hatcheries and feed mills to apply for Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) certification and re-certification online.

The online portal will also allow users of GAA’s websites to join the organization and renew membership, register for the GOAL conference, customize Global Aquaculture Advocate content and participate in GAA’s new online community for aquaculture professionals, MyGAA.

The new software system will act as the database of record for all GAA- and BAP-related activities, allowing users to log in to the online portal once and seamlessly conduct GAA- and BAP-related business activities.

The purpose of the upgrade is to simplify and accelerate the process of attaining and retaining BAP certification as well as to allow market endorsers to individually track the BAP-certified facilities from which it sources farmed seafood through a customized database of BAP-certified facilities.

The update is also designed to improve the member experience. GAA members will be able to track their membership status and payments in their online portal, and they will be able to log in individually yet be affiliated with an organization. The online portal also allows BAP-certified facilities to establish business relationships with affiliated facilities so BAP star status can be identified.

To log in to the online portal, visit https://www.bapcertification.org and click “Login” on the far right of the navigation bar. There you will also find instructional videos to help you navigate the portal. For questions about the portal, please call +1 (603) 317-5000 ext. 146.
