GAA’s Hart Named Chairman of the Seafood Nutrition Partnership Board
Almost a year after joining the board of directors for Seafood Nutrition Partnership (SNP), Global Aquaculture Alliance (GAA) VP Dr. Steve Hart has been named chairman of the board, effective Jan. 1, 2019.
“Steve’s passion and energy has been invaluable to the board, along with his dedication to take SNP to the next level,” said Hugh Welsh, outgoing SNP board chairman and president and general counsel of DSM North America.
“It really means a lot to me to be appointed as SNP board chairman, as seafood nutrition is near and dear to my heart. It’s an honor,” said Hart. “I look forward to doing my part to help SNP carry out its mission of inspiring a healthier America through seafood nutrition.”
Hart, who joined GAA in June 2015, is leading GAA’s market development efforts in Asia as well as working on various emerging issues affecting aquaculture and its stakeholders. Previously, he was executive director for the Soy Aquaculture Alliance and director of aquaculture at the Indiana Soybean Alliance.
Founded in 2013, SNP is a non-profit organization with a mission of inspiring a healthier America through partnerships and outreach to raise awareness about the essential nutritional benefits of eating seafood.
