New SeaPak Packaging Design Features BAP Label

The Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) label is prominently displayed in the new packaging design for SeaPak Shrimp & Seafood Co. that was rolled out early this month.

The redesigned packaging, which is beginning to hit retail shelves in North America, features the BAP label on the front of packaging, just underneath the product name, on popular items such as Shrimp Scampi, Jumbo Coconut Shrimp, Tempura Shrimp and Popcorn Shrimp.

SeaPak retained Voicebox Creative to redesign 30-plus product SKUs as well as the SeaPak logo to better align the brand with its message. Says Voicebox, “The refined look stays true to SeaPak’s classic image as to not confuse consumers but marries the brand’s iconic equities with that of the attributes it is communicating to new consumers looking for real food ingredients.”

Also, for the next six months, the BuzzFeed Tasty logo will appear on SeaPak’s Shrimp Scampi packaging, making SeaPak the first frozen retail brand to feature the BuzzFeed Tasty logo on its packaging. BuzzFeed Tasty features recipes and cooking instructions for consumers.

BAP encourages branded seafood companies like SeaPak to display the BAP label prominently in its packaging. For artwork, check out the BAP Marketing Toolkit and contact BAP Marketing Coordinator Elise Avallon at elise.avallon@globalseafood.org.

BAP is the world’s most comprehensive third-party aquaculture certification program, with standards encompassing environmental responsibility, social responsibility, food safety, animal health and welfare and traceability. It’s also the only program to cover the entire aquaculture production chain — processing plants, farms, hatcheries and feed mills.
